New Local Rule implemented, hole #17
To stop from having to penalize someone for a rules violation when probably 95% of the club is breaking the rule already, please add this to your websites so we have an official local rule. The rules state that you must first take the hazard relief and drop the ball two club lengths from the margin of the hazard which would be on the cart path, then you could take relief from the path. I’ve noticed that almost everyone drops directly to the right of the path which is a violation without the following local rule. Thanks, Don
The three clubs at Edinburgh USA have instituted a “local rule” for all club events. If a player hits the ball into the lateral water hazard to the left of the 17th fairway, he/she may skip the step that requires the player to first drop the ball onto the cart path and may proceed directly to the right of the path taking stance and swing relief, plus one club length.
